The Knesset is about to vote on a plan that would force up to 40,000 Israeli citizens out of the homes they've lived in since long before Israel was even established. But we have a last chance to stop this shameful eviction. The government's bill was designed one-sidedly without even consulting the Bedouin communities, denying their basic rights over their land. The bill will throw these poor communities into further unemployment and despair and it could lead to conflict. The government is trying to force it through, but a huge public outcry now can persuade coalition parties to think twice before endorsing this brutal injustice. Let's urgently send a direct message to the coalition's heads of factions telling them to follow their conscience, and not the government's orders. The vote in the Knesset is on Monday May 27. Enter the Website below now to save the Bedouins and tell everyone:

Known as the Prawer-Begin Outline, this bill is the final version of a controversial plan - criticized both inside Israel and around the world as discriminating. It would destroy dozens of Bedouin villages in the Negev, while promoting new Jewish communities in the same area - sometimes on top of the ruins of a Bedouin Village.

Israel has long failed to address the Bedouin Community in the Negev - it refused to recognize villages that are older than the state of Israel, excusing itself from providing basic infrastructure, or minimum social services. By displacing tens of thousands from their homes and ignoring the Bedouins' right over their land, the plan will only deepen discrimination and hostility - no wonder that the Interior Security Minister demanded an increased budget for extra police forces as a condition to his support of the bill.

Time is running out - we need to flood heads of factions with messages before the vote on Monday. Let's call on them to recognize Bedouin rights and stop this plan before it is too late. Send your direct message here: http://www.avaaz.org/en/no_to_forced_eviction_of_negev_bedouins/?bWnYcab&v=25020

Last year, the Avaaz community in Israel stood by the Bedouin community in this fight against this outline. Now we have a new government trying old tricks, it's time to join forces again to stop this outrageous plan before it is too late.

With hope, Raluca, Dalia, Luis, Alice and the whole Avaaz team
